These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Trekdex mobile application (the “App”), operated by Trekdex LLC (“Trekdex,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By downloading, accessing, or using Trekdex, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Trekdex LLC

You must be at least 13 years old to use Trekdex. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement.
Trekdex lets you record hikes using your device’s GPS and tracks the geographic areas you’ve explored over time. Features may change, be added, or be removed at our discretion.
If you choose to sign in with your Apple Account, you’re responsible for maintaining the security of that account and for all activity that occurs under it. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.
You agree not to:
Hiking and outdoor trail activity carry inherent risks, including but not limited to terrain hazards, weather, wildlife, and getting lost. Trekdex is a tracking and recording tool — it is not a substitute for your own judgment, trail research, appropriate gear, or common sense.
Trail information in the App is derived from third-party data (including OpenStreetMap) and may be incomplete, out of date, or inaccurate; trail conditions and closures are not verified. You use the App, and engage in any hiking or outdoor activity in connection with it, entirely at your own risk. Do not rely on the App as your sole means of navigation or safety in remote or unfamiliar terrain. Always carry appropriate backup navigation and safety equipment.
The App’s core features depend on GPS location data, which is processed on your device. Trekdex does not operate a server that receives or stores your location or routes. See our Privacy Policy for details on how location data is handled.
Trekdex, its logo, and its content (excluding user-generated content like your hike names and notes) are owned by Trekdex LLC and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App without our permission.
Trail and area geometry is derived from OpenStreetMap, © OpenStreetMap contributors, and is used under the Open Database License (ODbL); that data remains subject to its own license.
You retain ownership of the content you create in the App (such as hike notes). By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store and display that content back to you as part of the App’s functionality.
The App relies on third-party services — such as Apple’s Sign in with Apple, mapping and geocoding services, and PostHog for anonymous analytics — that have their own terms and privacy practices. We aren’t responsible for those third-party services.
The App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that location or trail data will always be accurate — GPS accuracy can be affected by terrain, weather, and device limitations, and trail data may be incomplete or out of date.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Trekdex LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to injury, loss, or damages incurred while hiking or engaging in outdoor activity.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at our discretion, including for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
